How to Prepare Unseen for Offline Use Before Selecting a Video

Prepare Unseen's local engine before opening a private video. Use the exact readiness message, disconnect sequence, and retry steps for offline work.

On this page

Open Unseen while connected, choose Local processing, and click Prepare for offline use. Wait for the message: “Local engine ready. The app will work even if you go offline.” Then disconnect before selecting the video.

Preparing first matters if you want the sensitive file to become available to the page only after network access has stopped.

A short preparation checklist

  1. Open the import screen.
  2. Select Local processing, even if you are already signed in.
  3. Leave the file picker alone for now.
  4. Click Prepare for offline use, or wait if preparation has already started.
  5. Confirm the ready message.
  6. Disconnect Wi-Fi, wired networking, and any other active connection.
  7. Select a harmless test clip and complete an export.

The app may start engine preparation when you choose local mode or interact with the file area. The dedicated preparation control gives you a clear route that does not require selecting a video first.

What should work when disconnected?

You should be able to choose a local file, use a local effect, process faces, preview the result, and export it.

Cloud processing and Face swap are outside this workflow. If a step asks for cloud processing or credits, check the mode and method instead of reconnecting automatically.

Use a short test containing a visible face. A video that loads but never reaches a completed export is not a complete rehearsal.

What if the ready message never appears?

Read the error shown by the preparation area and use Retry while online. If you cleared site data, switched browser profiles, or moved to another device, prepare again.

Restrictive browser settings or unavailable service-worker support can prevent preparation. Try a browser configuration that supports the app before bringing the sensitive file into the page.

Do not treat a previous visit to the site as proof of readiness. The home page can load without the full local engine being prepared.

Keep the session intact

Leave the prepared tab open during processing. Avoid refreshing, clearing browser storage, or closing the app halfway through a job.

When you export, check where the browser saves the file. A synced downloads folder may send it elsewhere when networking returns. Choose a suitable destination if remaining offline is part of your handling plan.

This procedure checks that the prepared local workflow can operate without a live connection. It does not assess the security of the whole device.

For the full editing sequence after preparation, read anonymize video offline. If you only need to hide faces in an ordinary clip, the basic tutorial is the shorter route.

Try it on a short clip

Start with a difficult moment from your video, then inspect the exported result.
