How Gym Influencers Can Blur Other Members in Workout Videos
Keep yourself visible while blurring other gym members. Follow Unseen's face-selection steps and catch mirror reflections, spotters, and people between sets.

To blur other people in your workout video while keeping yourself visible, use Select faces in Unseen, choose Select all, and change your own entries to Keep. Leave other gym members on Hide, process the clip, and check the mirrors before posting.
Gym footage needs that extra check because a person can appear twice: directly behind you and in the mirror across the room. Hiding one appearance does not prove the other is covered.
Trim the setup and rest time first
The useful part of a set may be twenty seconds inside a two-minute recording. Cut the time spent adjusting the tripod, walking to the machine, and resting unless it serves the video.
Those spare moments often contain the clearest views of other members. Someone who is a small blur while you lift may walk close to the lens while you are picking up your phone.
Do your crop and basic cuts in your normal editor, then export a working file. If the clip is for a Reel, make the vertical version now. Unseen does not choose the crop or build the montage.
Blur the background without blurring yourself
- Open Unseen and select Local processing for the free on-device workflow, or Cloud processing if you want to upload for GPU processing.
- Select the cut you intend to post.
- Choose Blur and click Select faces.
- In the face list, click Select all.
- Find every entry that is definitely you and switch it to Keep. Leave everyone else on Hide.
- Choose Continue processing, watch the result, and click Export video.
If you are signed in and want local processing, check the mode card explicitly. The app can initially select cloud for signed-in users.
Look through the entire face list. Your side profile and your reflection may be separate entries. If an entry is unclear, keep it hidden until you can identify it from the source.
Review the gym in three passes
First, watch the direct background. Look at the people using machines behind you and anyone crossing between your body and the camera. Inspect the start and end of each crossing.
Second, watch only the mirrors. Ignore your lift for a moment. Follow people at the edges of the reflection, including those standing behind the camera. A face can become clear when a member leans forward between repetitions.
Third, watch the beginning and ending. Check the moment you approach the camera to start or stop recording. Bystanders may be closer and less obstructed there than during the set.
A spotter needs particular attention. Their face may be almost entirely blocked by your head until they lean forward, producing a very brief clear appearance.
If a face keeps appearing uncovered
Try Maximum in local processing for crowded or fast-moving footage. It looks for faces more frequently and takes longer. It may help with a short appearance, but it cannot guarantee a detection in every reflection or obstructed view.
Do not switch from Blur to Pixelate expecting it to repair a missing mask. If the face is not being covered at all, the problem is detection or tracking.
For a stubborn miss, your practical choices are to crop that person out, cut the short interval, or draw a box on the face in Review & fix faces and track it. If the whole set depends on a difficult mirrored background, choosing another take may save more time than repairing it.
Keep your form visible
A mask on a nearby face can cover part of your movement when someone stands close behind you. Watch the exercise itself in the finished file: are your shoulders, knees, bar path, or other teaching details still clear?
When the tutorial depends on those details, a quieter filming position is a better long-term setup. Ask the gym where filming is allowed and point the camera toward a controlled background. Do not film changing areas or other prohibited spaces on the assumption that blur will make it acceptable later.
Post the treated version, including the cover
Add captions and music to the exported file. Choose your cover from that version too. A screenshot from the original can reveal the same member you carefully hid in the video.
Save the treated master if you plan to reuse the set in a montage. Then check each new crop; a background reflection can become prominent when a horizontal clip becomes vertical.
For a shorter tutorial focused only on the selection controls, see blur everyone except one person.
Try it on a short clip
Start with a difficult moment from your video, then inspect the exported result.
