Fictional Story: How Maya Shared a Birthday Video More Thoughtfully
A fictional parent edits a birthday clip for public sharing: she trims the setup, hides other children, removes names, and catches an untreated cover.

Maya wants to post twelve seconds of her daughter blowing out birthday candles. The problem is that the recording shows six other children around the table, and she does not know whether their parents want them on a public account.
This is a fictional example. Maya and the family are invented to show the editing choices, not a customer testimonial.
The first decision is to make a shorter clip
The original recording begins with people arriving at the table. One child walks close to the camera while an adult calls their full name. Maya had barely noticed because she was watching the cake.
She trims the setup in her video editor. The shorter version begins when everybody is seated and ends after the candles go out. That removes an unnecessary close-up without changing the moment she wants to share.
She keeps the original in her family archive.
She hides everyone, then reveals her daughter
Maya opens Unseen and chooses Local processing because she does not want to upload the party recording for processing.
She picks Emoji, selects the short file, and chooses Select faces. In the face list, she clicks Select all. Then she changes her daughter's entries to Keep, leaving the other children on Hide.
One thumbnail shows her daughter leaning sideways, so Maya checks it against the original before revealing it. She does not assume the first frontal thumbnail covers every appearance.
The first export reveals a small problem
Most of the result looks right. Near the end, one child ducks behind another and returns at the edge of the frame. A brief part of the appearance is not covered.
Maya tries a more thorough local setting and reviews that timestamp again. In this example, she ultimately chooses to end the clip just after the candles go out, before the difficult movement. The extra reaction was not necessary to the post.
That decision is part of the example, not a claim about measured detection performance.
She changes the sound and cover
The birthday song includes her daughter's name, which Maya is comfortable sharing with her chosen audience. Another child's name is called just after the song, so she removes that ending audio with the cut.
Then she notices the cover she had selected earlier came from the untreated source. She replaces it with a frame from the processed export.
The face edit would have been undermined by that single original cover.
The family copy stays separate
Maya labels the short export for the public post and keeps it apart from the longer family recording. She does not send the original to a collaborator who only needs the public clip.
The result preserves the candles and the celebration without requiring the whole party recording to be published. If you want to make the same kind of edit, start with the parent tutorial.
Try it on a short clip
Start with a difficult moment from your video, then inspect the exported result.
